Speed and Time-Units Menus
Speed Menu
In this menu, choose the download speed.
Download speeds are given in bits per second,
also known as bps. There are 8-bits per byte.
These are some examples of the choices available.

In this menu, choose the download time units you want for the result, for example one of these.

Drag your mouse pointer in the Speed or Time-Units menu to change units. Release the mouse button to perform a new conversion.
TIP:
Select units in the Speed or Time-Units menu. Press the Up and Down arrow keys on the keyboard to change units and do a new conversion.
Number of Bytes You Entered
The number of bytes to download you entered in the input field, is shown here as a number with download speed units added.
If you entered a formula or a fraction in the bytes to download input field, your formula or fraction was calculated and reduced to this number.
The units shown here are the units selected in the download speed menu.
TIP:
You can Copy and Paste any of the fields by selecting the text in the field,
then pressing:
PC: Control-C copy, Control-V paste.
Mac: Command-C copy, Command-V paste.
TIP:Error messages, if any, are displayed here.
Amount of Time to Download Your Bytes
This is the amount of time required to download your bytes, in the time units selected in the Time menu.
Calculator Memory
You can save the result of your calculation in the Calculator Memory,
then use your saved results later as input for other converters and calculators
anywhere on the website.

TIP:Precision of the calculator is 12 significant digits, from left to right. Digits after the 12 left-most digits, are not significant.

Control Buttons
The Download Time calculator has three control buttons.
Decimal and Scientific buttons let you choose the output format, as one of these two:
Decimal:-9999.1Scientific Notation:-9.9991e3Decimal Button –
In this mode the converter will output in Decimal format whenever possible.
However, the converter will automatically output in Scientific Notation
when the results cannot be shown properly in Decimal format.
Scientific Button –
In this mode the converter will always output in Scientific Notation.
Calculate Button –
Obtain your Download Time by any one of the following methods:
Click the Calculate button
Select a different unit in the Speed menu
Select a different unit in the Time menu
Click the Decimal or the Scientific button
Press Enter or Return on the keyboard
TIP:Scientific Notation is better for visualizing and working with big and small numbers, compared to decimal format.
